The Hall County Hero Flight Committee is currently working and raising funds to ensure that veterans and their family members will be interred in a beautiful, well-maintained burial park with the dignity and honor they deserve. The cemetery, located at the corner of Webb Rd and Capital Ave in north Grand Island, will adhere to the highest National Veteran cemetery standards. The cemetery will feature a Committal Shelter and a location for honor guard personnel to change, among other amenities. The cemetery allows for both the veteran and spouse to be interred in the cemetery site. Plans are for exceptional artwork to adorn and beautify the grounds. One installation will feature a bronze kneeling soldier holding a folded US flag. A second installation will feature a large American Eagle bronze sculpture. In addition, the committee has plans for a 40-foot Carillon Bell Tower located within the cemetery site that has the chiming of bells throughout the day. This will add to the honor and respect shown to our Veterans that are buried there.
