Central Nebraska Humane Society
About the Organization
Established in 1967, the Central Nebraska Humane Society has cared for the lost and abandoned animals of Hall County and surrounding areas for nearly 60 years. On a daily basis, CNHS shelters roughly 70 dogs and 125 cats (or more!). In 2024 alone, CNHS reunited 693 lost animals with their owners, adopted 741 animals to new homes, and transferred 122 animals with advanced needs to specialized rescue organizations, where they were able to receive the help that they needed.
Every year, we care for roughly 2000 animals. On average, we use 21,000 pounds of cat litter and 24,000 pounds of cat and dog kibble annually. This is a major undertaking and we rely on our community to help us provide each animal with the love and care they deserve. Our shelter operations are funded entirely by fundraising and the generous donations of our supporters. Each contribution helps cover the costs related to caring for the lost, abandoned, and abused animals that make their way to CNHS every day. Your donation helps us continue our mission of providing a voice for the voiceless.
