Over 40 years ago a forward-looking lady dreamed of a community foundation to establish a "vessel" to support the growth and development of Wood River. Forward 40 years, the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation was formed (with remaining funds from the town's centennial celebration), donations, memorials and legacies were received. Working with various groups in the Wood River Community the Foundation has served to award matching grants, seed money, receptacle for programs (ie Celebrate Wood River) and grants for the community. Close to ONE MILLION DOLLARS has been awarded back to the community in the form of approved grants and scholarships for the Wood River Rural High graduating Seniors.
