PFLAG Grand Island Chapter

About the Organization

Founded in 1973 by a mother and her gay son, PFLAG was born from the unified front of a family leading with love. An inspiring alliance of LGBTQ+ people and their loved ones continues to fuel PFLAG, fifty years later. PFLAG Grand Island is one of hundreds of chapters and more than 325,000 members and supporters who are helping create an equitable and inclusive world where every LGBTQ+ person is safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved. PFLAG is the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. PFLAG Grand Island provides support and education nights that bring together LGBTQ+ community members and their loved ones to gain knowledge, connect, and share experiences. The Grand Island Chapter also provides scholarships for LGBTQ+ youth, as well as self-care items for youth. Together with the young people in our community, we advocate at the legislative level, spend time sharing experiences with senators statewide and so much more.
