Literacy Council of Grand Island

About the Organization

The Literacy Council of Grand Island strives to provide free literacy education to all who seek it with our four pillars of programming: One-on-One Tutoring, Language and Learning Lab, Group Classes, and Community Connection Center. Through our programming, we are committed to helping our students reach their goals and increase their opportunities in life; literacy skills empower our students to do so. From finding gainful employment and economic stability to earning a driver's license or GED to registering to vote and becoming a civically-engaged citizen, literacy instruction equips our students with what they need to achieve any and all ambitions. By meeting their goals and attaining their dreams, our nation's newcomers become contributing, pivotal, accepted members of the Grand Island community.
