We began in 2009 serving 13 Hamilton County Families. In 2024 we are serving 42 total families, 185 individuals weekly. This is up about 20% from 2023. School administrators recommend families to our program. Each family decides if they wish to participate, but remain anonymous to us. We serve Aurora, Giltner, and Hampton Public Schools, Headstart and Sixpence throughout the school year. Sixpence families continue throughout the summer months as well. 14 rotating menus are used throughout the year. This includes food for one complete main meal, a breakfast and a snack for each member of the household. We purchase 95% of our groceries locally. A group of volunteers pack the groceries monthly and the bags are delivered to the schools weekly. No government monies are received. Our funds come solely through donations from individuals, churches, organizations, businesses and grants.
