Organized in 2010, Bikes and Trykes of Central Nebraska is a local chapter of AMBUCS, a national service organization composed of a diverse group of men and women dedicated to inspiring mobility and independence for those who cannot safely ride a traditional bike. Our service area extends west to Gothenburg, east to York, and to the South Dakota and Kansas borders. With the help of many of generous people and hard work, our chapter has assisted in the fitting, purchasing, assembly, and/or delivery of Amtrykes that have their owners out and moving. We recycle bikes that are returned when outgrown in order to share the gift of mobility with as many as possible. The families benefit from the Amtrykes also with greater options for family recreation. When an Amtryke is presented we share a lot of smiles but also tears of joy!
